Jenny and Andy celebrate on the Grain Barge, Bristol Harbour

Recently married couple celebrate their wedding on the Grain barge dance floor Bristol

When Jenny and Andy first hit me up about shooting their Bristol wedding I was intrigue by two things:

  1. Jenny said she loved the pictures I had taken of my kids - this really meant a lot to me as a photographer as the way I photograph family life is at the core of my approach to and love of photography.

  2. Jenny mentioned that they would be taking a boat trip after the ceremony from central Bristol down to their reception venue, The Grain Barge - cool, a boat trip! That’s not something you get to do very often. I bought some seasick pills and I signed up there and then .

And so, after the ceremony at Bristol Registry office, we strolled down to the harbour and boarded the river cruiser for a 30 minute trip to The Grain Barge - a floating venue near Hotwells, Bristol. During the trip we were serenaded by the Roaring Trowmen who blasted out several folky sea shanties.

Suitably sea shantied we arrived and moored at our destination: The Grain Barge is cosy and full of atmosphere and it wasn’t long before the fantastic funk band LBJBs got everyone dancing and strutting into a night of celebration.

A great day and night - and I didn’t fall in the river either!
